Hi Mark

There are not many shoe companies other than new Balance that make a true 2E. I have a wide toe box and the Newtons work for me. You however, gauging by your size may be a true 2E. I would say call the people at Newton. 877-860-7695. They are fantastic, and will give you great straight advice.

As for your calfs, this is natural when making the change to forefoot striking. It usually takes 30-40 miles or a couple of weeks for your legs to make the adjustment. So be mindful and be patient.

Be Healthy, Train smart, Have Fun

Hey coach. Great video. I too am an over pronator. I run with NB 1224 based on recommendation from a local running store. The funny thing is, they never looked at my gait. I'm either finding out that I am or teaching myself to be a forefoot striker. I've been expermenting with VFF's recently as well. Keep in mind, I have only been running for 1 1/2 years and I weigh 230 lbs. Given that, i have run 3 full marathons and a half marathon since september 09. I believe the for foot running has kept me relatively injury free (escept a calf problem recently). Question, does Newton make a wide shoe ( i wear 2E witdth)? If not, can you recommend a good forefoot striker shoe that is made in wider widths? great video. Mark
