Thanks Jeff. You and I see things alike. There are runners out there that feel truly inferior due to pace, size, weight, distance…whatever. Those are the people I enjoy sharing my passion with. I enjoy talking to them about my running.
Well said and I love your inspiration, especially towards others. I am glad that there are people in the endurance community like you. You make this a great community to be a part of.
Wow! Coach, you continue to be on-point with all you say and do for this community! Big props to you! I’ve only recently started running and just finished my first marathon (which happened to be Boston), and I’ve had literally THOUSANDS of positive interactions within this community. But the couple of negatives ALWAYS stand-out: like the running shoe store manager that told me I was too slow to run in Newton’s and was setting myself up for injury even though I was buying my third pair; Or the non-Boston Qualifier who put me down for being a “Charity Runner” saying that it was people like me who “cheapen the experience” for others. With people like you leading this amazing community of runner’s and athlete’s, we will all continue to be moved in the right direction. Thank you for all that you do!
I have been on the fence about joining a running community because of the arrogance of some local clubs. Looks like I may be joining this great your online running community. Love this video.
Wonderful message, coach! This is the main reason I became a trainer and coach – to help individuals break new ground, and find their personal gratification; regardless of age, weight, epxerience level, etc. Everyone starts somewhere, and it’s pretty much never too late to start. Thank you for posting this.
